"Welcome to the realm of the Divinity. You are a Divine now. A god, in crude terms. You've barely grasped god-hood, but as you grow in power in this place, you will unlock what it truly means to be a Divine..."

Ethera
is an enormous, extremely survival-friendly dimension datapack for Minecraft originally thought out and directed by Youtuber ProGameBot. This datapack features a huge custom dimension with 6 new biomes, over 25 custom mobs, 5 bosses to fight, 80+ custom items to find, 15+ gameplay structures and a custom rpg stat progression system to explore. All of the custom content is exclusively post endgame. A WIP wiki can be found here!

Special thanks to Von_Leipenstein for helping us get the worldgen working for 1.19! Check out his Expansion Datapack here!

Ethera - The Divine Dimension [V1.1.0] [OPTIFINE] Minecraft Data Pack
Reaching Ethera

In order to reach Ethera, you have to throw a nether star on a diamond block. This means that you need to get to the vanilla endgame to start in the datapack.

Ethera - The Divine Dimension [V1.1.0] [OPTIFINE] Minecraft Data Pack
Etheral Crafter

The Ethera dimension features a few new custom blocks. But the Etheral Crafter is undoubtedly the most important one of them all. From custom armor, weapons, tools, and more, this crafting station is needed to create all custom items in the datapack. Make it as soon as you can in order to progress.

Ethera - The Divine Dimension [V1.1.0] [OPTIFINE] Minecraft Data Pack
The Ethera datapack requires Optifine for most of its custom models!

Gameplay Mechanics
Relics

Littered around the world of Ethera are powerful, mystical remnants from the past. These items are called Relics and feature some kind of unique ability, ranging from firing arrows without gravity to unleashing thunder. In most cases, these items will serve as the best offensive/defensive options for the player, with the most powerful items in the game being in this category.
Divine Stamina

Some particularly powerful relics and items - or those that draw on Divine Power - have a special ability that momentarily exhausts the user. This brief exhaustion period is dependent on the user's Divine Stamina; a measure of how grounded and connected a player is to the divine energies of Ethera and the worlds beyond.

Divine Disciplines

As there are four elements, there too are four Divine Disciplines based on the principles of these elements. In quick summary, the Discipline of Fire focuses on turning Passion into raw power, strengthening your melee strikes. Wind deals with Freedom and hastens your melee alacrity. Water contemplates on Patience and empowers the arrows fired from your bow. Earth is grounding and connects an individual to the divine energies of the world. A fully realized player will come to master all four disciplines and unite them under the Ether itself.

Biomes
Ethera features 6 custom biomes and a micro-dimension built from the ground up by the development team. Each of these serves its own role in the pack progression and features unique mobs, structures, and more. The biomes are ordered after their difficulty in the feature showcase below.

Sapphire Oasis

This barren but beautiful land of dunes and oases serve as the first area the player will encounter. Out of all the biomes of Ethera, the Sapphire Oasis is perhaps the safest and most peaceful, although you are never truly safe. The ridges and valleys are home to a couple of species of wildlife with very important material drops, including, Deathsquitos, Deathsquitos Larvae, Snugs, Aerogellies and Ivises. A few structures including the Deathsquito Hive and Ruins can be found here.

Skyvale

Another relatively peaceful biome in Ethera is the amethyst-clad Skyvale. With large amounts of trees and a high count of resource-rich mobs such as Drifters, Deathsquitos, Stalkers, Silklings, Aerogellies, and more, this biome serves as a great place to set up a base. Although relatively void of structures, some Ruins and the Ritual Tower sometimes generate here. The Ritual Tower can be used to reach the final boss.

Farwoods

A mystical and enchanted forest that stores plenty of mushroom related content, both passive and hostile. Edible Glowing Mushrooms grow here together with strange Gloomshroom, perhaps related to the mooshroom of the overworld. Apart from these, Sporents and Brewents, servants of the first boss, make this their home here together with some other common mobs. The player might also wander into the mysterious Labyrinth here. Who knows what dwells within?

Hinnom

Every heaven must also have its hellish counterpart, and in Ethera's case this is the Hinnom biome. Its a fiery and molten landscape with exclusively hostile mobs populating it. Among the spires and fungal trees the player might come across Embershell, Plasmagellies, flammable Sulpheletons, and more! Some structures, including the Catacombs, Fortress, and Phoenix Tree spawn here, so be on the lookout!

Frosted Plains

This frozen wasteland is as uninviting if not more so than the Hinnom biome, but for completely different reasons. Where you might find quite a bit of life in the other biomes, the Frozen Plains contain nothing but a few powerful Crystal Golems and Poltergeists here and there. So-called Ice Towers and Ice Caves can also be found here. The third boss of Ethera can be fought in the Ice Caves.

Dominium

A lush and expansive plains that might seem like paradise, but beware since it has populations of some very dangerous mobs. A large portion of this biome is populated by Satyr, who build Tree Houses and Villages, but can also be found trading goods in Parthenons. The violent but tameable Dire Wolves also live here, feeding on other common species.

The Astral

In this ancient and hidden world lies the final challenge and boss of Ethera, the almighty Orbiter. Reaching this plane of existence requires finding an obsidian Ritual Tower and activating its portal with an Astral Offering, crafted from the loot of all lesser bosses. Activating the portal requires throwing an Astral Offering on the pedestal at the top of the Ritual Tower. Surviving and besting the Orbiter requires all power a player can muster.

Mobs
This page lists all current custom mobs that spawn throughout the dimension of Ethera. These provide the player with a source of some of the most important materials for the progression, together with alternatives to normal crafting materials. Understanding how each one of these works is essential in order to explore the datapack in full.

Aerogelly

These squishy blobs are one of the most common creatures the player will come across in Ethera. Related to the slimes of the overworld, Aerogellies drop a form of edible gel called Aerogel. This material is also unnaturally light and can therefore be used in certain air-related crafting recipes.

Brewents

Malicious and cunning, these hostile entities belong to the same mushroom family as the Sporents and serve under the same overlord. Contrary to their spear-wielding brethren, Brewents prefer to chuck deadly mixtures of whatever they find laying around. Some of their spores, or even edible mushroom parts, may be dropped when killing them.

Buried

These wrapped monsters have an unyielding thirst for blood and seek any player unfortunate to have come across them. Although slow, the Buried have the ability to completely negate knockback and also deal a considerable amount of damage, making them very dangerous in close quarters. You might find yourself in possession of their flesh upon slaying them.

Crystal Golems

Their size portrays a very correct statement about power. Whilst being rare, coming across one might be the last thing a player would want. More dangerous and tanky enemies are hard to find Ethera. When they are found they will almost undoubtedly smash unprepared foes to pieces. Defeat them to obtain a very useful magical ingredient, Crystal Shards.

Deathsquito

Size in this case doesn't equal harmlessness. Deathsquitoes possess a weapon similar to the one equipping bees in the overworld. Although neutral at first, angering one will bring the wrath of any nearby Deathsquitoes upon you. May drop string or their stinger upon death.

Dire Wolf

Very similar to the wolves of the overworld, these overgrown dogs travel and live in packs. Dire Wolves are one of the few creatures in Ethera that can be tamed, which is pulled off by dropping them a Satyr Heart. If the player wishes to increase their combat potential, they can drop them Wolf Armor bought by the Satyr Trader.

Drifter

How these giants can remain airborne considering their size is not a question anybody knows the answer to. Any player would be best advised to avoid them or risk getting taken out by a silent swoop attack. Slay them for a chance to get their wings or Bottled Clouds, used as a levitation potion.

Embershell

Defense to the max! Embershells are a type of volcanic turtle that thrive in the hellish and extremely hot Hinnom biome. These lizards can vaporize most players who wander too close. The smoke coming out of their backs can be used as a warning of their eruption attack. They have a chance to drop their Dark Chutes on death.

Gloomshroom

A symbiotic relationship between an ordinary cow and the highly infectious Glowing Mushrooms of the Farwoods. Much like normal cows, these animals are able to be bred and serve as a great source of a few very important materials. Unlike their overworld cousins that drop leather, gloomshrooms grow wool that can be harvested together with edible mushrooms by slaying them.

Ivis

Originating from the dry and arid deserts of the Sapphire Oasis, these carnivorous plants hunt much more than insects. Appearing slow, these plants can use their powerful bite to quickly dispose of their unsuspecting enemies. Winning the fight does however award the player with juicy Ivis to eat or rarely, Ivis Seeds.

Larvae

These tiny bugs use their great numbers to try to overwhelm players. They are the infant stage of Deathsquitos and are exclusively found within Deathsquito Hives. Killing them drops Grubs, which can then be used to create a flavorful stew called Grub Stew, which is a delicacy.

Mechahorse

Do they naturally reproduce or did someone create them? These mechanical horses serve as very quick mounts for players stuck on the ground and come in a normal and Tuned variant, that is only sold by the Satyr Trader. The player can use a Soul Wrench to boost or pick tamed Mechahorses up for transport. They spawn in the Dominium biome.

Mechaknight

Sometimes, Mechahorses can appear with robotic knights riding upon them. These appear rarely but can show up anywhere. They are capable of quickly overwhelming players with rapid laser blasts from their arms. Slay them to obtain some redstone-related items, similar to the Mechahorses they ride.

Mimic

Thought to have separated from the slime family of mobs long ago, these ambush predators can take the form of chests to fool players. They can randomly appear in structures and are more common the further into progression they lie. Slaying them rewards the player with Power Gems and Shards.

Pendant Keeper

This mysterious being seems to have come from the overworld! Found in the Fortress of the Hinnom biome, this illager has a very special purpose, guarding the Ancient Pendant required to fight the Colossus. It won't give it up without a fight and has a few tricks up its sleeve.

Plasmagelly

A cousin to the much more common Aerogellies that consists of super-heated gas. Both tougher and more dangerous, these mobs drop a variant of Aerogel called Plasmagel, granting its consumer a short burst of fire resistance, perfect for the Hinnom biome they're exclusively found in!

Poltergeist

What lurks under the rags and straps of cloth is unknown, but Poltergeist are very dangerous beings easily capable of killing unsuspecting victims. They hunt by freezing players with their screams (which can be avoided by equipping Ear Plugs) and then striking them down. They only spawn in the Frosted Plains and drop Essence and Ragged Cloth.

Satyr

These mostly hostile mobs serve as the counterpart to the illagers of the overworld or the piglins of the nether. Native to the Dominium, they build Tree Houses and Villages which they defend with Chromium gear. Players need to beware since they are one of the hardest hitters in the entire pack!

Satyr Trader

Not all Satyrs are violent, this one is much more interested in what you have to offer them in coin. In the Dominium biome, these traders can be found selling goods within the Parthenon structure. Some of the stuff they sell include Tuned Mechahorses, Night Wings, and Power Gems.

Seedling

These cute friendly critters can never be found naturally, but must instead be grown by the player from Ivis Seeds which are dropped by Ivises. By placing them on any kind of dirt, Seedlings will slowly grow Ivis Fruit, which is a superb food source and also comes in three separate variants.

Silkling

A spider counterpart for Ethera that love trapping players in their webs. They can be found either hunting during the nights in the Skyvale or crawling inside of their Silkling Nests found in the same biome. Killing them rewards players with spider eyes and string much like normal spiders.

Snug

These giant snail-like creatures are amphibious and love swimming around in the Oases of the Sapphire Oasis. They are one of the more useful animals, dropping both a leather alternative called Snug Hide and Shell Fragments, which is required to make the first set of armor in the progression.

Sporents

These angry inhabitants of the Farwoods are in the same family as the Brewents and are also subjects to the Doomcap. They can be found both wandering r hunting in the woods or within the walls of the Labyrinth wielding sharp spears crafted from the resources found within Ethera.

Stalkers

Sometime in the past, birds of prey evolved to instead hunt on foot, which led to the origin of the Stalkers. They are found in most biomes and can probably both outrun and out-jump any unfortunate players. If you manage to come out on top and kill them, you are rewarded with feathers.

Sulpheletons

An unique skeleton variant that is only found in the hellish Hinnom biome. They wield powerful bows which they use with great accuracy. Slaying them gives you Sulphur, a gunpowder alternative. This material is however also their greatest weakness since ignition causes them to explode.

Zombified Satyr

These vile and rotting husks serve as the one of the most basic enemies in Ethera and can be found in multiple biomes. They work very similarly to the zombies of the overworld and track players from long distances. Killing them drops rotten flesh, similarly to the Buried.

Bosses
Regarding the player's journey throughout the pack, these vicious and powerful bosses are in focus at all time. We in the Ethera team have chosen to utilize a progression system similar to the one used in Terraria. The player is forced to fight bosses in the correct order since their loot drops work as key-materials to unlock the next fight.

Doomcap

This enormous fungus serves as the hivemind overlord to all Glowing Mushroom related mobs. It is the ruler of the Farwoods as well as the first significant foe in the path of the player. In order to fight it the player must first find the Labyrinth structure deep in the Farwoods, which must then be unlocked with a Labyrinth Key. The Doomcap is quite tanky and slow-moving. It utilizes infected Deathsquito drones and toxic spore clouds to fight at distance.

Phoenix

A powerful fire-breathing bird of prey found within the hellish Hinnom biome. To grant access to it the player must first enter a Phoenix Tree, which is done by breaking down the door with a Hellstone Axe. After overcoming the obstacles the player must then break the Phoenix' Egg in the top chamber, which will in turn summon the Phoenix to combat. As a bird, the Phoenix uses powerful swooping maneuvers either using its claws or breathing fire. It is also capable of summoning small Embers that fly around and attack.

Colossus

A frozen remnant from a forgotten world the player might be wise not to wake it from its slumber. Found within the bowels of the Ice Cave, the player must use a Pendant of Revival to reanimate it and break it loose from the ice. Once the bones have been freed and life once again enters this beast, the Colossus is a brute in every sense. Although it has a moveset consisting mainly of charging and smashing, this can still prove deadly within the enclosed space, and Frozen Fangs can aid in reaching players stuck outside of its range.

Satyr Warchief

The fiercest and greatest of all the Satyrs of the Dominium. This ruler commands respect from its subjects, fear in its foes, and sits perched atop a throne in the Satyr Village. Because of a very high degree of vanity, the Warchief will only allow the player to fight it after having proved themselves, by besting the Colossus. After tearing the nearest door from its place and using it as a shield, the Warchief is a brutal foe in melee combat, and will even summon servants to fight for it in a pinch. Battle music included!

Orbiter

The greatest of calamities and strongest of entities in all of Ethera. This celestial being can only be fought upon accessing another plain of existence, called The Astral, through a Ritual Tower. If the player then chooses to stand up against the Orbiter from the central platform, a light show of lasers and explosions will commence. With extreme amounts of health, teleporting abilities, and long-ranged attacks, the Orbiter will put even the most geared players to the test and serves as the final boss of the datapack.

Structures
Ethera features over 20 custom structures to find in the dimension, but since most of these are not very crucial to the progression, only the ones tied to the bosses will be featured below.

Labyrinth

A rare and mysterious structure found in the Farwoods that requires a special key to access. Found within are traps, puzzles, enemies, and more, which will ultimately lead to a fight with the Doomcap.

Phoenix Tree

A huge tree that towers over everything in the Hinnom that the Phoenix has chosen to make its nest. Accessed with a Hellstone Axe, it features dangerous parkour and some puzzles, together with a large open space for the boss fight at the top.

Ice Cave

A large underworld network of tunnels and passages. Within this structure, the player can hope to find frozen Relics (that can be broken out with a chisel) and three Ice Gems. Collecting these Ice Gems grants access to the chamber with the Colossus.

Satyr Village

Found in the Dominium plains, these large villages serve as the base of operations for the Satyrs and their Warchief. Among the buildings are normal houses, the tent for their leader, as well as a treasury, that can be accessed after defeating the boss.

Ritual Tower

The final gateway to the last boss battle. This obsidian tower features dangerous defenders and a portal on the very top. By throwing an Astral Offering atop the pedestal a player can open the portal to The Astral in order to fight the greatest foe of them all. They generate in multiple biomes including the Skyvale biome.
