FenPack aims to bring variety to the textures in Minecraft. Each texture has FOUR or more variations in order to create a more lively world. I plan to post an update around the 15th of each month until the project is finished, so keep an eye out! This is an early version of the FenPack, so some textures may change.

6 Update Logs

Update #6 - GUI, Tools, Weapons, and Iron Armor : by Fenwat 08/13/2022 4:49:16 pmAug 13th, 2022

I've started work on overhauling the visuals of the GUI. The hotbar is designed to resemble a belt that can now be seen on iron leggings. The inventory is designed too resemble a satchel that can now be seen slung over the iron chestplate. Additionally, the anvil, crafting table, furnace, and chest have been given a new interface. While I am mostly pleased with these textures, they may be tweaked as I improve.

All of the base tools and weapons have been modified in order to give them each a more unique identity.

Deepslate ores now have varied textures.

I have updated the "planned future content" tab to be more descriptive.

I'm sorry, but I currently don't have any plans to make a Bedrock version. Whenever I finally finish the pack, I can look into making a Bedrock version.

I love this resource pack! I only have one question: when will it be finished approximately? Because I've tried to keep an eye on this and I'm think it's been labeled "30% complete" for quite a while now.

I would like to download and use it when I know it's finally finished and I won't have to update it anymore. In any case it looks epic already and I can't thank you enough for making this resource pack :D

Thanks for the positive feedback! As of right now, I don't really have a timeline set for this resource pack. "FenPack" has just been something I've been working on in my free time, and when I first uploaded it to PMC I just arbitrarily chose "30% complete".

All that said, I have been considering changing my upload schedule to include bigger updates once or twice a month rather than the small, frequent updates that I have been doing up to this point. Maybe that way each update will be more worth the download and installation time.

At this point I plan to go through all the blocks, items, and other features I intend to work on, so that I can have a more accurate gauge of my progress toward finishing "FenPack". This list will be included with the next update along with a general timeline for future updates. Hopefully with that list, if you (or anyone else) are only interested in downloading the pack when its 100% complete, we will be able to have a better idea for how far out that date is.

Again, thanks so much for the positive feedback! It really helps with the motivation.

If anyone wants to leave their opinion which blocks or other textures I should focus on next, fell free to leave a comment and I will take it onto consideration.

Oh that sounds wonderful. And I'm glad my comment motivated you a little. I know how it feels to be working on something for free without having any outside motivation, so I won't pressure you into finishing it faster or anything. I'm just glad you're making such awesome content.

As for the upload schedule changes: I suggest you should just post however you want and whenever you have the time. The last two updates you made were very full of new cool content, which as a user I must say looks nicer than a small bugfix. But if you need some motivation and just want to post already then do it... we welcome any new content you bring us! Just take as much time as you need... :D

Another suggestion I have would be to update the "30% complete" bar whenever you update the pack to reflect how close you feel to the finished result. Not only will it let us know that the finished full version will be out soon but it also attracts new followers, since people on this site usually go for more complete projects rather than the prototypes. At least I do :D

Lastly I wasn't sure if I can leave a suggestion for the textures themselves, since it's YOUR pack and you're the one making it, but now that you've asked for it I'll gladly let you know:
  • The GUI changes would be really cool if they were somewhat similar to Samurai_Lemon's GUI pack. It's been my personal favourite GUI texture pack for a long time but it hasn't updated to 1.19 yet. I mainly like it because it combines the classic dark UI with several unique coloured UIs for different workstations and inventories.
  • Some texture packs out there have very rarely used clouds. I could name one resource pack that changes cloud shapes. I guess if you could play around with that I'd be really cool.
  • Since you're making so many textures varied why not try varied foliage like flowers or moss?
That's about it for now. If I have some more ideas I'll let you know in a different comment. In any case you're doing a fantastic job and I wouldn't mind if you didn't want to make any of my suggestions. Work on it as much as you like and have fun!

And thank you :D
